A high SEO score is not the business outcome

A technical audit score is useful because it exposes specific problems and gives teams a repeatable way to check progress. But a high score does not automatically mean the website deserves to rank, answers buyer questions well or provides enough evidence to be referenced.

We saw this on our own website.

The website was technically healthy, yet our own AEO analysis showed that the content contained far less proof and evidence than its technical score suggested. That changed our priority from “add more SEO text” to strengthening service-page depth, case-study proof and first-hand evidence.

Our own website is part of the test environment

Fusion Works is building FusionWorks AI as an internal SEO, AEO and website-evidence platform. We use fusionworks.in as one of the first real test environments so recommendations are checked against implementation rather than accepted because an automated system produced them.

The process has already exposed issues in our own site — including incorrect canonical signals, thin commercial proof and the gap between technical health and answer/evidence readiness. Those findings are now shaping the way we design service pages, case studies and Insights.

This gives us a practical feedback loop: the platform audits the website, humans validate the recommendation, the change is implemented, and the site is crawled again.

Can a website be optimized for ChatGPT, Gemini and AI search?

A website can be made easier for search and AI-driven discovery systems to access, understand and evaluate, but no agency can guarantee a mention or citation. The durable work is technical accessibility, strong content architecture, clear entities, useful answers, evidence and authoritative external signals.

Does structured data guarantee AI citations?

No. Structured data helps machines understand explicit facts and relationships when the markup accurately reflects visible content, but it does not guarantee a ranking, AI mention or citation.

Use a repeatable set of buyer-like prompts, test across more than one relevant system, run multiple observations and track mention rate, citation/link rate and framing separately. Compare the trend over time alongside Search Console, analytics and qualified enquiries.

No. We recommend improving the same canonical pages people and search engines already use. Separate near-duplicate pages for SEO, AEO or AI search can create confusion and cannibalization rather than clarity.
